For starters, only a few days into 2007 we found out that we were going to be having another baby. The pregnancy went very well. I kept busy playing with Charlotte, I worked at Tricks a couple nights a week and I cleaned and organized the heck out of everything I could get my hands on. When it was time for Savannah to come I showed up at the hospital ready "complete" and ready to have her! Everything went smooth and fast. Too fast to get an epidural. Yikes, I know.
The nurse felt like Savannah could be eating better hours after being born so they admitted her into the NICU. We brought her home with a feeding tube and a couple weeks later she was exclusively nursing. Deja Vu. We thought there was no way we'd have to go through that again after Charlotte's birth. (It was premature and unnecessary in my opinion. I think she would have been fine. I'm temped to just give birth in the wilderness next time.)
Savannah has been such a wonderful addition to our family. We love her dearly. She is such a good baby. She sleeps through the night and she puts up with Charlotte's "enthusiastic" hugs and kisses. I can't forget to mention her gummy smile... it makes my heart melt! We love the mohawk, too.
Charlotte, Charlotte, Charlotte. The "Big Sis". She REALLY loves her baby sister, to say the least! She is in her face as much as she can get away with. Charlotte also has had her moments with wanting to sleep in a crib and crawl. Aside from harass Savannah, Charlotte loves to draw and paint. She is getting very good at it. She can also write all of her letters and is interested in sounding out words. She also loves ballet and gymnastics. Charlotte would wear a leotard all day every day if she could. She is my little friend and helper.
Then there's Hyrum! This guy is working hard these days. He gets up at 3am to work at UPS and then works another job in insurance until 5pm. I don't know how he does it. He also plays soccer on a mens team with his brother Josh. Hyrum also still enjoys making videos and working with photography on his computer. He is also the one who plans all of the fun park trips and activities for us.
As for me... what can I say, I was pregnant all year. So I ate and slept a lot. But really, I love being a mom! I am even getting to the point where I am thinking about minivans. I thought that day would never come. I keep pretty busy doing mom and wifely duties and when I'm not doing that I love sleeping, shopping, T.V. and the computer. I am also going back to school in 2008.
We are still in a transition period of our lives. We are growing wiser with each passing year as we experience all that life has to offer. The good and the bad. That is the only way to grow as human beings. It will be fun to see where 2008 takes our little family. You never know what is in store!
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year! We love you. Thank you for being part of our lives.
