Goose Attack!

It was a bad idea to begin with... I took the girls out to Negro Bar to take some pictures.  It was really, really windy and super cold.  As we approached the beach Charlotte was crying because the wind was blowing her hair all over the place and the blanket I had thrown over Savannah's car seat was blowing off, and we observed a large flock of geese.  They were peaceful and quiet until they saw us coming.  During the warm months of the year these geese feed off of the left overs from the beach goers.  Apparently it had been a while since they had been fed.  A long while.  They started to honk loudly and come towards us.  I have vast experience feeding geese so I didn't worry.  They would leave us alone after they found out I had no food, right?  Wrong!  They walked right up and bit me on the leg!  Then I threw a stick at it and yelled a bit and then they moved on.  I think Charlotte will forever be freaked out by geese from this incident.  What punks!  It didn't hurt, but what nerve.  Never bite the hand that feeds (or leg for that matter).  We used to come to feed the geese often- but no longer!  And I didn't get any good pictures taken.  I did capture the bite on video, sort of.  You can hear my say, "Stop It!"  The camera work is poor because I was trying to push the girls back behind tree for safety.  Ok, the whole experience is pretty funny.

Sickies

Charlotte has been sick for a week.  Finally Savannah got it, too.  My two little girls just laid around on the couches all Monday.  The worst is definitely over.  Today they both feel a little better.

New Hair Cuts

Last Thursday Charlotte and I said "goodbye" to long hair.  It was long overdue for the both of us.  We love our new do's!

Oh, How I Love to Stand!

Savannah is getting bigger everyday. She is simply the sweetest little baby! She sleeps every night from 11 to 8, loves to suck on her toys and smiles at Charlotte even when she pokes her eyes. She also like to growl back and forth talking with me.  Savannah still has crazy hair.  Her mohawk has grown out into just a big poof on the back of her head and long in the back.  Yes, a little bit like a mullet.  Her latest trick is standing. She has these little stalky legs. I love it!

Learning the Culinary Arts

I'm tired of being so lame in the kitchen! I only know how to cook like 3 things including Eggo waffles. And when you have burritos more than 4 times a week, you know there's a problem. So anyways, I am teaching myself how to cook. I decided to have Charlotte learn right along with me. (That way if something goes wrong I can blame it on her. No just kidding.) She loves to help out with things when ever she can. I bought her a step stool and she is right there next to me mixing and rolling. So far we have made Shrimp pasta something-or-other, cinnimon pretzles, letter pancakes and ceasar wraps. Someday soon I will whip up a delicious bass.

Our Little Christmas

On Christmas Eve we left family parties early to have a quiet night at home with our girls. Hyrum gave us all new jammies. So we all put them on and got out some treats for Santa, hung our stockings and read "The Night Before Christmas" and talked about when Jesus was born. Charlotte was so excited! Every morning in the month of December leading up to Christmas she would wake up and run into my room saying, "Mom we forgot to open our advent calender today!" There were no more doors on the calender to open. It was hard for her to fall asleep.Christmas morning we all slept in until 8:00 then strolled down stairs while Charlotte ran to to tree and to fetch her stocking. The whole morning was so magical to her. The look in her eyes and tone in her voice was priceless! She was thrilled to find out that Santa ate his treats and the reindeer had eaten the carrots she left for them.
It is fun to be on the parent side of Christmas. You know what I mean? Creating the whole Christmas experience for your kids. As a kid Christmas was the best, but I think it is even better watching your children enjoy it.
